Waukesha Preservation Alliance, along with many other partner organizations, is proud to host Historic Preservation Month, May 1-31, 2022. This annual event brings local history to life for all ages.
Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum
101 W. Main Street, 10am – 4pm
The museum will hold outdoor games (weather permitting) and crafts in the Waukesha State Bank Education Center. The Landmarks Commission will be onsite with an information table to learn more about historic preservation in the city. At 2pm, local historian John Schoenknecht will present a special “Ask-Me-Anything: Historic Sites in Waukesha” program. Attendees are encouraged to come with questions.
Open House at Silurian Spring
Springs Park, 700 N. Hartwell Ave., 10am – 1pm
Enter the 1927 classical octagonal springhouse located in Springs Park, located behind the Waukesha Post Office, and learn the history of Waukesha’s springs era.

Architectural Scavenger Hunt
May 21st – June 21st, 2022
Participate in this family-friendly activity. Search through the historic sections of our City to locate small details of buildings. Scavenger hunt forms available online at the Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum.
